Напишу очень честный отзыв.
Он имеет две части.
1). Касаемо Grade 1 и опыта дочки, учитель была великолепная, Ms Ieva. Ей огромное спасибо, дочка была счастлива, несмотря на то, что и она указывала на странные уроки с Мистером Михаилом (русский язык в школе) и ругающихся очень активно матом мальчиков во время перерыва. Дочку никто не дразнил, но и подружиться с девочками у нее так и не вышло.
Я забрала детей из школы через 2 месяца после начала, нам конечно никто не вернул деньги, а их было утрачено много, платежный план так хитро сделан, что сначала платят родители большую сумму, а потом по четвертям доплачивают остаток за год.

Так вот причина ухода была в Grade 3.
И там просто огромная проблема со стороны как учителя, так и менеджмента школы.
Там был булинг у сына с первого дня не прекращающийся, два парня из Grade 4 булили его нон стоп, толкали, обзывали матом, пугали, кидали в него траву и говорили, чтоб он ее ел, потому что по их мнению наш сын корова, сын просил помощи у учителя на улице, но безрезультатно, я просила поддержки у учителя Ms Jillian, но безрезультатно, у завучу Ms Elizabeth, но вместо поддержки и участия я услышала невероятное, что возможно у нашего сына есть проблема с когнитивными функциями мозга, ну да, конечно, а до этого два года в другой стране англоязычной он был душой класса, много друзей, но завучу из ISL было на все безразлично.
Вторая проблема - нам не разрешили присоединиться к группе mother tongue латышского языка, а это государственный язык и у детей между прочим паспорта страны Латвия! Это немыслимо просто! Школа стоит более 19.000 евро в год и родители не могут выбрать mother tongue латышский язык в Латвии, это правда немыслимо!
Вместо этого дети вынуждены были ходить на русский, где преподаватель Мистер Михаил им регулярно показывал кино времени СССР, а также фильм Кинжал, рассказывал про оккупированные территории и делился другими знаниями, которые не касаются урока русского языка. Завучу и директору было все равно на это, они не видели в этом политического подтекста, абсолютно неуместного в рамках урока языка.

В результате булинга наш сын получил нервный тик, нервный срыв, плакал в школе, ему было очень плохо и одиноко, и школе было абсолютно все равно на его чувства. Он даже не мог нормально учиться в результате, он очень стрессовал.

Мне пришлось перевести детей на домашнее обучение на время и мы уехали из страны, так как не нашли достойной международной школы для наших детей, где образование было бы на английском языке и международная настоящая среда.

Я считаю, что это худшая школа в Латвии из частных, так как менеджмент школы, который абсолютно лицемерен, делает вид, что в их школе нет обильного мата среди детей и булинга. А я поговорила с другими родителями, и да, они тоже имели проблемы с булингом к их детям.

Что ж, если кто-то готов подвергать своих детей такому эмоциональному насилию - их право.
Я считаю, что школа непрофессиональна, лицемерная и абсолютно безразличная к чувствам детей.

Никому не советую туда отдавать своих малышей. Английский язык и без ISL можно выучить.

Наш сын до сих пор с очень негативными эмоциями отзывается о школе.
Хотя пробыл там всего 2 месяца.

До этого он не имел проблем в школе в другой стране, где есть настоящее международное сообщество, а не 90% детей, которые говорят на одном языке, и это далеко не гос язык Латвии.
Иностранцев почти нет в ISL, их очень мало.

Поэтому, никому школу не советую.

Если бы мы знали, что оно так… просто во время просмотра на туре школы, все были очень любезные, конечно, в классах недобор, им нужны клиенты, которые будут финансово поддерживать школу… никто же не скажет, что в школе проблема с менеджментом в лице директора, завуча начальной школы, у которых свое видение и которым совершенно наплевать на чувства детей. Они даже утром здороваются через силу… крайне негативный опыт у нас получился.

Хотя в школе есть очень милые люди, в Admission, Ms Ilvija, Ms Ieva… которым не все равно, но директор и завуч - они не выдерживают никакой критики. И они разрешают быть в школе и мату, и агрессии, и булингу.

My team played against them at a tournament. Absolutely the worst experience ever. The players are mean without a reason and have a horrible attitude towards others. The students are inadequate. After speaking to the supervisors, no action has been done towards changing their behavior. The players targeted our school by injuring and insulting our students, and were unapologetic about their actions. Their attitude is vulgar. The students have no integrity whatsoever. I would never recommend this treatment for anyone.

This is our seventh year at ISL; my three children joined when they were three or four and will now soon be moving on from elementary to middle school.

ISL is a great school. Teachers are friendly and enthusiastic, methods of instruction are well thought through and varied and real effort is made to tailor instruction to the individual student. The full IB program (PYP, MYP and DP) is offered in a cohesive way that really engages with IB values and fosters intercultural exchange as well as promoting academic excellence.

Class sizes in elementary are small (usually around 15, with a teacher and a teaching assistant) which really helps young students feel seen and supported.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this school to any parent living in Riga or its surroundings temporarily or permanently and looking for an established, well-run and happy school.

Great school! The school is a gang neutral territory, so outside of learning hours whenever I get jumped in the hood surrounding the premisses, I rush here!
The school is clear of the ops, and despite what you might read here the Russians are very nice and promote a culture of peace and friendship! Also at my time at the school I haven't seen a single "homunculi", in fact I think that the individual spreading misinformation on "homunculi" presence in this fantastic and crisp establishment was a "homunculi" themselves, trying to spread misinformation on the subject, in order to move suspicion away from themselves!
I have a lot of memories in the school, such as coming together with the fam after hours near the establishment and "taking care of business" in order to avenge Eralash, participating in the first AND second opening of the ISL fight club in the boys downstairs bathroom near the big wooden stairs, and holding meets with the fam in the bathrooms.
Throughout my time at the school, I met a lot of fantastic people such as Big G, George Floyd (before the arrest), Terminator, Snoos, Biggie smalls, and Eric. Overall I really recommend the school, and I once took a shit without flushing at this particular location, sorry

My daughter started 1st grade in 2022. Six months later she already spoke English. We had three international schools in Pinki to choose from and I am happy that we chose ISL. Friendly atmosphere, caring staff, professional teachers. There were 13 students in the class, a teacher and a teacher's assistant in the class. There are no grades in primary school, only a summary at the end of the term. No homework, but the school encourages a lot of reading in English. There is no school uniform, which I really like. We were lucky to study for a year with Ms. Alex Burke, thank you for your sense of humor, involvement and desire to create a friendly atmosphere in the class. Since my daughter has special needs, we had a meeting with the school nurse who helped us overcome our anxiety about how our daughter would feel at school. Thank you for this to Ms. Karina Muzikants. I would like to thank the teachers and staff for their kind attitude towards my daughter. I wish the school to maintain a high standard, maintaining a homely atmosphere so that children can develop without anxiety and stress.
Unfortunately, there are also negative aspects. My daughter, for various reasons, behaves differently from her peers. She is overweight and wears glasses, for which she was teased and bullied. This often happened at recess and the Russian language was used. I would like to draw the staff's attention to this so that a kind and respectful attitude towards peers is cultivated.

I studied here for half a year and am left with incredibly mixed feelings. I was here in the former half of 2022, and since I was displaced by war and am Ukrainian I was granted free admission until the end of year, this I am grateful for. However, the pure “vibe” of the school felt stagnant. The students there seemed to want for nothing, with most of the IB10s and 9s being emotionally hollow. The worst part is that most of the staff was similar, keeping up a facade or something. Quality of education is fine though, a bit below IB average but I doubt that’s the school’s fault. Send your kids if you want, just know that from one person’s the school is full of homunculi.
And on a side note, from what I remember, the school’s finances are not in great shape, so there may have been layoffs or size-downs since I’ve last been there.

Awesome school. The Russians are very nice there, and keep the filth out. The bathrooms have a vibrant vape/snus/weed culture, and the disabled people don't stick out since half the people here are slow in the mind anyway. I was able to meet a lot of plugs here who later became my friends so 10/10 friendliness. I haven't even seen a single homanculas here!

Im in this for 2 weeks, i really enjoy they way how we learn new things, it’s really making me want to learn something new. This school is definitely different than others, everyone is so nice, im glad i move schools
